By Car – Approaching York from the North (A1/A19/A59) take the A1237 ring road and follow the signs for A64 Scarborough. Take the A64 for approximately 5 miles. Take the left turning to Flaxton village. Half a mile along this road on your left is the entrance to Griffon Forest.
If you are approaching from the south (A1/M1/ M62/A1079) take the A64 dual carriageway towards Scarborough. When it becomes single carriageway continue for approximately 5 miles and look for the Flaxton turn off to the left and follow the directions as above.
Travelling to Griffon Forest from York Train Station.
Taxi – You will find plenty of taxis waiting right outside the train station.
Bus – Coastliner number 843 (Malton / Scarborough). The bus stop is just outside the station. Get off the bus at the Scotchman Lane stop near Sandburn Hall.Β Please note that there is a 30 minute walk (1 & 1/4 miles) from the bus stop to Griffon Forest Reception.
