Discover an abundance of animals, birds and plants that have made Griffon Forest their home.

Tread carefully and you may see some of our special residents such as deer, foxes and if your lucky, members of our exclusive badger community. Sit back and watch our bird population feeding at the bird tables and nesting in the boxes around the lodges. As the seasons change, so does the wildlife and flora so that all year round our visitors can find new things to see.

One visitor from Kent wrote this in our comments book.

“Absolutely beautiful place, opened the kitchen window at our lodge and felt like Snow White with all the animals and birds. Will definitely be back”.

Footpaths across neighbouring Strensall common, a Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Reserve, provide a further opportunity to explore a different environment dominated by wetland, marshes and open heathland.
